Paisley Wines

Eden and Barossa Valley, SA

It’s exciting to have Paisley join the Bacchant family back in 2019. Derek and Kirsten began their Paisley dream on a small hobby farm in 2016 in the Eden Valley, South Australia. They have plantings of Shiraz, Fiano and Mataro on the property, a handful of chooks, three cats and some sheep that help to keep the grass down in the winter months.

Derek has been making wine for 20 years, cutting his teeth at wineries like Thorn Clarke and Bremerton. He brings an element of finesse and a light touch to the warm climate big flavoured wines of the Barossa Valley region.

The range includes the usual suspects like Shiraz, Grenache and Mataro with some new additions of Fiano sourced from the Adelaide Hills and Kirsten’s favourite, an Eden Valley Riesling which has received some rave reviews for its debut 2020 vintage. The aim is to let the attributes of the vineyard and the fruit shine by using minimal intervention in the winery.

The name Paisley comes from a town just outside of Glasgow Scotland where Kirsten’s Great grandfather hailed from prior to him settling in Adelaide in 1839.

It’s the small batch wine making that sets Paisley Wines apart from our other wineries and makes them a truly unique addition to the portfolio.
