Long Rail Gully is a family owned and operated vineyard and winery which is located at Murrumbateman in the cool climate of the Canberra District. 60 acres of vines where planted in the spring of 1998 in amphitheatre like surroundings around a beautiful 6 acre trout filled dam.
With immediate proximity to a new modern winery, winemaking begins moments after the berries have been plucked from the vines, a sound step towards the goal of producing fine wines. The process continues with constant attention until the wine is bottled in the winery's own state of the art bottling line.
Long Rail Gully's wines are all single vineyard hand-made premium wines. The ancient decomposed granite soils and fresh crisp air of Murrumbateman offer something special for growing vines and it shows in the wines produced. The wines are highly awarded including several NSW top 40 wines, gold medals at Wine Asia International wine show and gold medals and trophies at regional wine shows including a trophy at the Sydney International wine show recently.
