It was very exciting to have Schild Estate join the portfolio in 2020. The Schild family are the custodians of some of the oldest vines in the world including the highly awarded Moorooroo Shiraz which was planted in 1847 and has received 99 points from James Halliday 3 years running.

Family owned and operated since first establishing vineyards in the Barossa Valley in 1952, the Schild’s were one of the oldest family-owned grape growers and now one of its most successful wineries. With Ben Schild dying suddenly in 1956 it was left to 16 year old Ed to run the business. There are now three generations involved in the business.

With a history, knowledge and passion for the land, Mick Schild is the head Vigneron he has 11 vineyards totally 450 acres all within the small area surrounding the townships of Lyndoch and Rowland Flat. Mick and Winemaker, Scott Hazeldine work closely together to ensure that each wine is a true expression of its unique patch of land. The main plantings are Shiraz, Old bush vine Grenache and Mouvedre, classic varietals for the Barossa Valley.

Just another producer of premium wines to add to our already extensive range of fine wines made with delicate balance and refreshing complexity.
