The quest for higher quality has seen Argentina's most ambitious winemakers push into the Andes foothills where the higher altitude and meagre soils produce the finest grapes. Man Meets Mountain Malbec is fermented in stainless steel tanks and concrete vats the traditional red wine fermentation with commercial yeasts, open tank pump overs and the fermentation conducted at 28 degrees and 3 months spent in old french oak.
Using 100% Mendoza Malbec and 20% of the grapes come from 80 plus year old vines. This adds to the character of the wine by its perfumed fruit and violet notes on the palate.
Man Meets Mountain is packed full of blueberry, blackcurrant and plum with a complex and delicious finish. A truly gallant addition to the portfolio.
